Mansfield is a groundbreaking initiative designed to create fair and equal opportunities for all lawyers to advance into law firms’ leadership. Launched in 2017, Mansfield has over 360 firms participating in its 12-month Certification program.

Mansfield is a structured certification process designed to ensure all talent at participating law firms and legal departments has a fair and equal opportunity to advance into leadership.

The Mansfield Certification framework is a science-backed and data-driven solution that helps boost inclusivity, access, and diversity in leadership at participating law firms. To maintain its effectiveness, the standards for Certification continue to evolve based on data-backed insights.

Participants will learn:

  • Mansfield Overview: A brief history of Mansfield and its evolution.
  • Requirements to Participate: An outline of Mansfield Certification requirements for all participating firms.
  • Lawfulness: We’ll describe how Mansfield remains lawful despite current political headwinds.
  • Benefits of Certification: An overview of the benefits firms receive during the Certification period and after they achieve Certification.

Speaker Biographies

Alyssa Jarvis joins Diversity Lab with more than 10 years of experience in diversity, equity, and inclusion. As a Director of Mansfield & Strategic Innovations, she works with over 360 law firms in pursuit of Mansfield Certification. She has an opportunity to meet with and learn alongside large and midsize firms, located in the US, Canada, and UK. In her previous roles, she managed relationships with corporations that were focused on creating inclusive environments for all employees.
Courtney Munnings As Mansfield Rule & Knowledge Sharing Manager, Courtney Munnings assists law firms in the US, Canada, and the UK with their Mansfield implementation and knowledge sharing. Prior to joining Diversity Lab, Courtney Munnings spent 8 years at Troutman Pepper Hamilton Sanders LLP as a commercial litigator with a substantial pro bono practice. Courtney was an LCLD Pathfinder, and is passionate about disability inclusion and creating equal opportunity in the legal profession.
